April Large Die of the Month: Market Tote Everyday Joy Card

Hello, crafty friends! As a homemaker who goes grocery shopping once or twice a week, this card is perhaps the most special to me because it captures my real everyday life. There’s something so satisfying about filling a shopping bag with fresh baguettes, cheese, bell peppers, broccoli, and milk. And of course, when spring comes, I always love to treat myself to a bunch of tulips or a small potted plant to brighten up the house!

This card features the April 2026 Large Die of the Month (Market Tote). The star of the show is the paper shopping bag made from Fawn cardstock. If you look closely, the die is designed to fold at the sides, creating a true 3D effect that looks just like a real grocery bag!

For the background, I used Raven cardstock and embossed it with the April 2026 3D Embossing Folder of the Month (Market Crates). It creates a perfect rustic, wooden crate texture that makes the shopping bag pop.

One of my favorite details is the classic glass milk bottle. Since I wanted it to look like it was actually filled with milk, I die-cut it from white cardstock and used a light blue marker to shade just the top and sides, giving it that translucent glass look. All the other groceries were die-cut from colored cardstock and enhanced with ink blending for extra depth and realism.

  • The Background: Emboss a panel of Raven cardstock using the Market Crates 3D Embossing Folder. The dark, woody texture sets a great “market” mood.

  • 3D Shopping Bag: Die-cut the tote from Fawn cardstock. Fold the side tabs to create that realistic 3D dimension.

  • Grocery Prep: Die-cut all your market finds—baguette, cheese, peppers, broccoli, and radishes. Use ink blending to add highlights and shadows to each piece.

  • Milk Bottle Tip: For the milk bottle, die-cut from white cardstock. Use a very pale blue marker around the edges to create the illusion of a glass bottle full of milk.

  • Stamping: Use dark green ink to stamp the sentiment from this month’s Clear Stamp set directly onto the front of the Fawn shopping bag, making it look like a printed store logo.

  • Assembly: Layer all your groceries and that beautiful pink tulip inside the bag. Use foam adhesive for the items in the front to maximize the 3D look.

This project reminded me that even the most ordinary parts of our day—like a trip to the market—can be turned into something beautiful and creative. I hope this card brings a smile to your face as you think about your own favorite market finds!

Happy Crafting, Heejung
