Warm Holiday Wishes with the Spellbinders Old-Fashioned Christmas Stocking

Hello, friends!

I’m so excited to share today’s Christmas card featuring the Old-Fashioned Christmas Stocking Etched Dies from Spellbinders! This set brings so much classic holiday warmth, and I had so much fun adding extra layers of texture to make it feel extra cozy.

For this card, I wanted to combine rich textures and traditional Christmas colors. By pairing the subtle geometric background with a knitted stocking filled with festive greenery, poinsettias, and a bold white hot-foiled sentiment, the whole design comes together with a wonderful cozy holiday vibe.

Create the Textured Background: Dry-emboss a piece of Fog cardstock using the Diamond Blocks 3D Embossing Folder and adhere it to an A2 card base.

Die-Cut & Texture the Stocking: Cut the main stocking piece from Evergreen cardstock, then run it through your die-cutting machine inside the Snuggly Knit Embossing Folder to add a realistic knit texture. Assemble with the white cuff, heel, and toe pieces.

  • Die-Cut & Layer the Greenery: Die-cut the poinsettia, holly leaves, berries, pine needles, and ornament accents using Fern, Rain Forest, Poppy, and coordinating cardstocks. Arrange and layer them inside the top opening of the stocking.

  • Add the Accent Bow: Die-cut the bow from Poppy cardstock and attach it near the top left corner of the stocking.

  •

Foil & Die-Cut the Sentiment: White hot-foil the “MERRY CHRISTMAS” sentiment from the Merry Messages Press Plate & Die Set onto Poppy cardstock. Cut it out with the coordinating die and attach it across the stocking using foam adhesive for added dimension.

I hope this cozy holiday card inspires you to get a head start on your Christmas crafting! Combining textured backgrounds with rich die-cut elements is always one of my favorite ways to bring seasonal cards to life. Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Happy Crafting, Heejung
