April Club Mix: Fresh Picked Market Crate Card
Hello, crafty friends! For my final project today, I wanted to show you how all the different April Club kits can work together to create one bountiful scene. This card is a mix of the Stitching Die, the BetterPress/Hot Foil Club, and even the Bonus Die set!
The background was created by hot foiling the Seed Co. Border in black onto Blush cardstock. The soft pink background gives it a modern, fresh feel. The star of the card is the wooden market crate, which I made using a fun DIY technique: I embossed a panel with the Market Crates 3D Embossing Folder and then carefully cut along the pattern to create a realistic-looking crate!
Inside the crate, I “packed” a variety of goodies. The carrots and onion stalks are from the April Stitching Die set (Rooting For You), and the adorable strawberries are from the Market Jar Trio (this month’s All Clubs Crate Bonus Die set). To add even more variety, I included some leafy greens and a yellow bell pepper from the Large Die set.
I also used the wooden picket sign from the Stitching Die set to add the “Thanks a Bushel” sentiment, and finished it off with another foiled sentiment from the Press & Foil Club, hot foiled in white on black for that crisp contrast.
Background: Hot foil the Seed Co. Border plate in black onto Blush cardstock.
The DIY Crate: Emboss a piece of tan cardstock with the Market Crates 3D Embossing Folder. Fussy-cut along the embossed lines to create a custom-sized crate for your card.
Filling the Crate: Die-cut and ink-blend your vegetables and fruits. I used the carrots and onions from the Stitching Die set and the strawberries from the Bonus Market Jar Trio die set.
Sentiments: Hot foil “Thanks a Bushel” and the accompanying strip from the Seed Co. set. The white-on-black strip adds a nice bold touch to the front of the crate.
Assembly: Layer all the veggies so they look like they are peeking out of the crate. Use foam adhesive on the crate and the picket sign to create depth.
Looking at all the cards I’ve made this month, I am so impressed by the versatility of the Market Weave and Market Crates textures. Whether you’re making a 3D crate like this one, or using it as a subtle background for a market tote, these patterns really bring your paper crafts to life!
I hope this “mix and match” card inspires you to look at all your club kits as one big creative playground. Don’t forget to check back on my previous posts to see more detailed looks at each individual club!
Happy Crafting, Heejung
