Spellbinders Country Christmas Collection-Shimmering Stars and Festive Cheer

Hello crafty friends! I’m so excited to share two new cards I’ve created using the beautiful Spellbinders Country Christmas Collection. The star of today’s show, and the key element in both designs, is the versatile Barn Star Wreath Die Set. Let’s dive into the details of each card!

Golden Star of the Season

For my first card, I wanted to create a rich, textural backdrop.

I started by dry embossing the background with the Country Christmas 3D Embossing Folder, which adds such a lovely depth. The elegant frame was crafted using Waterfall Cardstock and the Emerald Cut Labels and Tag Die.

To perfectly fit the card base within this frame, I carefully trimmed all four corners of the card base to match the die-cut shape – a small detail that makes a big difference!

The focal point, of course, is the striking barn star. I die-cut the star from Gold Metallic Cardstock using the Barn Star Wreath Die Set. To give it wonderful dimension, I folded it along the scoring lines in the center, creating a beautiful 3D effect. The accompanying pine needles and berries were also die-cut from the same die set. To enhance their realism and give them a frosted, highlighted look, I carefully drew along their edges with a white gel pen.

For the sentiment, I used the Country Christmas Banner and Sentiment Press Plate and Die Set. I hot foiled “Season’s Greetings” onto Poppy Cardstock with white foil, then die-cut and adhered it to the card. The vibrant red really pops against the gold and green!

A Sparkling Winter Wish

My second card takes on a more ethereal and shimmering feel. I began by creating a subtle, elegant background on white cardstock using the Snowfall Shimmer BetterPress Plate. I hot foiled this with the aqua blue tone foil from the Satin Pastels Variety Pack, which gives a beautiful, understated shimmer, like gentle falling snow.

The star on this card is truly captivating! I die-cut the main star from Aquamarine Assorted Treasured Glitter Cardstock, giving it an irresistible sparkle. Beneath it, I die-cut another star from Waterfall Cardstock and then layered the patterned, die-cut star on top. If you look closely, you’ll see that the golden star has a circle dot pattern, while the other star features a delicate swirl pattern, adding subtle visual interest.

The beautiful bow was die-cut from Gold Metallic Cardstock, while the pine needles and other foliage elements were created from Waterfall Cardstock. The berries were die-cut from Tutu Cardstock, adding a sweet touch of pink. For the sentiment, I used the Country Christmas Banner BetterPress Plate, hot foiling it with Matte Gold Hot Foiling onto cardstock and then die-cutting it before adhering it to the card.

I absolutely loved playing with these elements from the Country Christmas Collection, and I hope these cards inspire your own holiday crafting! Which card is your favorite? Let me know in the comments below!

Happy crafting,
