Spellbinders- Country Christmas Collection, Christmas Rocking Chair

Hello everyone!

I’m excited to share a closer look at some projects created with the brand-new Country Christmas Collection, which was released by Spellbinders in July. This collection is filled with wonderful products, and it’s so extensive that tackling cards with everything at once can be quite a delightful challenge! For today’s post, I’m focusing specifically on the charming Christmas Rocking Chair die set to showcase its versatility. I’ve created two distinct cards to illustrate this.

Cozy Corners & Winter Wishes

For my first card, I envisioned a cozy Christmas scene. I used patterned paper from the Merry Moments paper pad to create the wallpaper, setting a festive backdrop.

For the floor, I chose a woodgrain-patterned paper to ground the scene.

To give the rocking chair a realistic wood texture and dimension, I used blending tools to add subtle shading and depth.

The sentiment, ‘WARM WINTER WISHES,’ was created using the Merry Message Plate and Die set, which I hot foiled with matte gold for an elegant touch before die-cutting it.

Also die-cut the blanket using the Merry Moments paper pad.

Sweet Beginnings: A Rocking Chair Welcome for Baby

For my second card, I wanted to demonstrate how the same rocking chair die set could be used for a completely different occasion – welcoming a new baby!

I again used patterned paper from the Merry Moments paper pad for the wallpaper and the same woodgrain paper for the floor, maintaining a cohesive feel between the two cards.

The adorable little dress hanging on the wall was die-cut using a die from the Dancin’ Hoppy Bunnies Everywhere Large Die of February 2025.

To create the hanger, I bent a small paper clip – a fun and easy way to add a custom detail! The patterned cushion and blanket in the rocking chair were die-cut from the Simple Stories Simple Vintage Flower Shoppe paper pad, adding a touch of delicate floral charm. The potted plant in the room was created using a die from the Stitched Study Nook Stitching Die Club – March 2025

The key takeaway from these projects is the incredible versatility of the Christmas Rocking Chair die set. It’s fantastic how one set can be adapted to create cards for совершенно different occasions! The sentiment on the baby card, ‘WELCOME BABY,’ was created using the Curved Everyday Sentiments Glimmer Plate & Die set, which was also hot foiled in matte gold and then die-cut. As a final touch to allow the dress to hang realistically, I added a small silver embellishment to the ‘wall’ of the card.

I hope these cards inspire you to think outside the box with your die sets and see the potential for creating projects for various occasions.
