Hero Arts- Summer by the Shore Collection
Hello crafting friends!
Today I’m so excited to share two cards I made featuring some fantastic new products from Hero Arts’ July release, specifically from the “Summer by the Shore” collection! This collection is just perfect for creating beautiful, serene, and beach-inspired projects.
First up, we have this lovely “Message in a Bottle” card:
Card 1: Message in a Bottle
For the background of this card, I used a stamp I already had in my stash – the Bubbles Bold Prints Cling Stamp.
I inked it up with watermark ink, then sprinkled white embossing powder over it and heat-embossed it. Once the embossing was done, I used blending tools to color over it with blue-toned inks, creating that wonderful underwater effect.
The “Message in a Bottle” itself was created using the Message in a Bottle Die. I die-cut the bottle shape from vellum paper, which gives it that nice translucent look. I then die-cut the scrolled paper message and the sand portion.
For the sentiment, I used the Banner Days Stamp & Cut set. I stamped the message onto a banner, die-cut it, and then added foam adhesive to give it dimension.
Next, let’s dive into the second card:
Card 2: You're a Treasure
For this card, I started with watercolor paper. I used the Scattered Shells BetterPress and Foil plate with dark blue ink to press the beautiful shell pattern onto the paper. After pressing, I added watercoloring to create a subtle underwater feel, giving the background depth and texture.
The gorgeous shells on top were created using the Sophisticated Shells Dies. I die-cut them from white cardstock. This die set creates two layers, so for the bottom layer of the shells, I colored them with Tea Dye ink to give them a slightly aged, natural look. Then, I adhered the crisp white top layers of the shells over them, making them pop against the background.
For the sentiment, “You’re a Treasure,” I again turned to the versatile Banner Days Stamp & Cut set. I stamped the sentiment using VersaMark ink onto violet cardstock, then sprinkled white embossing powder over it and heat-embossed it. After die-cutting the sentiment banner, I also die-cut a banner from gold metallic cardstock using the same banner die. I layered the gold banner underneath the sentiment banner and attached it to the card with foam adhesive for extra dimension and shine.
I really enjoyed playing with these new dies and stamps from the “Summer by the Shore” collection. They make it so easy to create intricate and beautiful cards with a lovely seaside theme.
I hope these cards inspire you to create your own ocean-themed masterpieces! Let me know in the comments which one is your favorite.
Happy crafting!
