Hello crafting friends! Today, I’m excited to share two cozy winter cards created with the adorable Mugs & Kisses Collection by Spellbinders. These festive mug designs are packed with dimension, cute snowmen, and charming penguins—perfect for sending warm holiday greetings!
Whimsical Snowman Mugs
For the first card, I wanted a soft, snowy, and playful winter scene.
Background: I started with a Waterfall cardstock panel and added two layers of stenciling using the Snow Joy Stencil. First, I ink-blended with Pool ink, then added Hero Paste White Pearlover top to give it a shimmering, textured snowflake background.
Pink & Red Mugs: Using the Mug Friends Etched Dies, I die-cut the mugs from Poppy and Blush cardstock.
On the Poppy mug, I heat-embossed the sentiment “Oh What Fun” (from a previous Christmas kit) using VersaMark ink and white embossing powder. I die-cut the handle from Pomegranate cardstock, flipped it over, and attached it to the left side.
On the Blush mug, I die-cut a white snowflake using the die from the Mug Friends set and adhered it to the center. Its handle was die-cut from Poppy cardstock and placed in its original direction on the right side.
Mug Details & Marshmallows: I filled both mugs with coffee die-cut from Fawn cardstock and added whipped cream. The adorable marshmallow snowmen stick figures were die-cut using Truffle cardstock for the stick bodies, and their cute beanies were die-cut in combinations of Cascade + Poppy and Peridot + Teal Topaz.
Festive Penguin Mugs Grid
For the second card, I created a fun four-grid layout starring cute penguin-themed mugs!
Background & Grid: I started with a Saffron cardstock base. I die-cut two background panels using Windy cardstock, creating four distinct quadrants. On three of the squares, I added die-cut white snowflakes.
Sentiment: On the remaining quadrant, I stamped the sentiment “Have Yourself a Merry Latte Christmas” from the Santa’s Sippin’ Sayings stamp set in black ink.
Penguin Mugs: The base of each mug was die-cut from Raven cardstock, and I built the penguin faces using white cardstock. Just like the first card, one handle was flipped to face left, and the other remained on the right. I dressed up the penguins with scarves and straws die-cut from Teal Topaz and Poppy cardstock.
Assembly & Finishing Touches: Both penguin mugs were popped up on the grid using foam stickers for extra dimension. Finally, I scattered small white dotsacross the panels to complete the cozy winter vibe!
Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope these cozy mug cards inspire your holiday crafting.
Happy Crafting,
