Spooky & Stylish! Classic Mouse Costume Party Collection with Spellbinders
Spellbinders is releasing incredible new collections today, and I am so excited to share this spooktacular release with you! This is the Classic Mouse Costume Party Collection, part of their ongoing Classic Mouse series. To be honest, I thought I had made enough Halloween cards for the season, but I just couldn’t resist this one! The urge to dress up these cute mice in fun costumes was way too tempting to pass up… and so, here we are! 🎃✨
For these projects, I used the Greenwich Market Frame 3D Emboss & Cut Folder to create detailed, antique-style frames so that these cards can easily double as freestanding Halloween decor for your home!
Mickey Dracula Frame
Background: I started by embossing Windy Cardstock using the Damask 3D Embossing Folder from the Spooktacular Collection by Simon Hurley, then added blue ink shading for extra dimension. (Psst! This embossing folder is currently on 50% sale, making it a wonderful deal!)
The Frame: The frame was die-cut from Raven Cardstock using the Greenwich Market Frame 3D Emboss & Cut Folder. I lightly blended white pigment ink over the top to really bring out the ornate, carved frame details.
Mickey’s Outfit & Dracula Costume: Mickey’s hat, suit, and shoes were die-cut using the Classic Mouse Wedding Etched Dies in rich Celestial and Cascade Cardstock. His Dracula cape and costume elements came from the Classic Mouse Costume Party Etched Dies, cut from Raven and Merlot Cardstock, complete with tiny, spooky Dracula fangs!
Accessories & Sentiment: From the Classic Mouse Trick-or-Treat Accessories Etched Dies, I added his treat bag, walking cane, and floating bat. For the sentiment, I foiled the “trick or treat” sentiment from the (now retired) All Seasons Autumn Press Plate on Raven Cardstock using Matte Gold Foil, then die-cut and placed it on top.
Minnie Witch Frame
Background: For Minnie, I embossed Chiffon Cardstock with the same Damask 3D Embossing Folder and shaded the edges with soft blush ink.
Minnie’s Witch Outfit: Minnie’s dress was die-cut using the Classic Mouse Wedding Etched Dies, while her witch costume, cape, shoes, and hat were crafted using the Classic Mouse Costume Party Etched Dies. I used a vibrant color combo of Mulberry, Peridot, and Rainforest Cardstock, blending extra ink over the edges to give her a wonderfully spooky Halloween vibe!
Accessories & Playful Detail: Using the Classic Mouse Trick-or-Treat Accessories Etched Dies, I created her broomstick and flashlight. My favorite interactive touch is the little black spider hanging from a piece of silver thread—it dangles and sways whenever the card moves!
Sentiment: The “spooky fun” sentiment was hot foiled in Matte Gold on Raven Cardstock to finish the look.
