Spooky & Fun Halloween Cityscape Card | Yana’s City Collection Add-On

Hi everyone! Today, I’m excited to share a fun Halloween card featuring the brand new Halloween Add-on series from Yana’s City Collection released this August by Spellbinders! By combining the city building dies with spooky Halloween elements and subtle textures, I created a eerie yet charming night city scene.

Here is how I made this card step-by-step!

 

Create the Textured Background:

  • Emboss a panel of Fog cardstock using the August Embossing Folder of the Month, Happy Jacks.

  • Gently blend gray ink over the embossed design to add dimension and subtle shading for a spooky backdrop.

Build the City Structure:

  • Die-cut the main building base from Raven cardstock using the City Holiday Etched Dies.

  • Die-cut the window frames and front door from Merlot ColorWheel Cardstock and adhere them to the building.

  • For the glowing windows, die-cut panels from Beeswax cardstock and shade them with warm orange ink around the edges to create an illuminated night-window effect.

  • Add Spooky Halloween Decorations:

    • Die-cut ghosts, a skeleton, a black cat, a bat, and pumpkins using the Halloween City Holiday Decorations Etched Dies.

    • Die-cut intricate spider webs from vellum cardstock and tuck them behind the window frames and roof line for a soft, translucent touch.

    • Assemble all the characters and spooky elements onto the building to craft a lively Halloween scene.

  • Hot Foil & Add the Sentiment:

    • Hot foil the sentiment “Wishing You A Fang-tastic Halloween” onto Raven cardstock using Matte Gold foil and the Happy Halloween Sentiments Press + Foil Plate & Die Set.

    • Die-cut the sentiment with its matching die and adhere it onto the right side of the card using foam adhesive for added pop and dimension.

Assembly:

  • Mount the entire building assembly onto the shaded Happy Jacks background panel to complete the card!
