Everyday Magic: A Starlit Birthday Card for Cat Lovers

Hello, crafty friends! Today, I’m sharing a slightly different way to stretch your holiday stamps and dies! While Yana’s Christmas Cats Collection by Yana Smakula for Spellbinders is designed with Christmas in mind, its versatile elements make it ideal for everyday projects too.

By skipping the traditional red and green holiday motifs, I turned these dies into a whimsical, starlit scene featuring a cozy cat sitting on a windowsill next to a small gift. This design would make a perfect birthday card for any cat lover!

Here is how I brought this starry night window card together.

Texturing the Wall: I started by embossing a sheet of Fog cardstock using the Brick by Brick 3D Embossing Folder to create a subtle, cool-toned brick exterior.

Blending the Starry Night Sky: For the view through the window, I blended deep blue and indigo inks onto a panel. I splattered water droplets over the ink to create soft texture resembling distant stars, then embellished the sky with gold glitter die-cut stars and sparkling gold gems.

Pressed Sentiment Finish: For the sentiment, I used the Meowy Christmas Sentiments Press + Foil Plates & Die Set by Yana Smakula. The playful “MEOW MEOW MEOW meow MEOW!” text placed along the bottom sill adds the perfect playful touch to the entire card.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today! I love finding creative ways to use holiday die sets all year round. Switching up the color palette and background elements is such a fun way to get more mileage out of your crafting stash. I hope this project inspires you to look at your festive dies in a new light! Until next time, happy crafting!
