Dapper & Fun Suspender Card

Ready for some preppy charm? Today, I’m sharing a standout project from the Hero Arts Friends with Flair Collection. This card is all about the Suspenders Die Set, and it’s one of my favorite designs to date! Whether you’re making a card for a sport enthusiast or someone who loves a dapper look, this unique layout is packed with personality and fun “flair” elements.

Creating the Texture:

To mimic the look of a knit sweater, I used the Sports Talk Embossing Folder by Justine Dvorak from Spellbinders. Please note that this specific embossing folder is a retired item, but any textured or alphabet-themed folder would work beautifully here! I embossed Oceanside Cardstock, which gave it a beautiful, deep-blue textured background that makes the other elements pop.

Building the Outfit:

I used the Suspenders Die Set to create the shirt, the crisp white collar, and the adorable pink bow tie. For the suspenders, I opted for a custom color palette rather than a traditional rainbow. I combined Teal Topaz and Indigo Cardstock to create a more sophisticated, coordinated look.

Adding the Flair:

This is where the fun happens! I decorated the suspenders with various die-cuts from the Got Flair? Die Set, including a smiley face, a basketball, a rainbow, and a “No. 1” hand.

The Sentiment:

I finished the card with the “You’re My Fave” sentiment from the Totally Awesome Stamp Set. I stamped it in a vibrant pink ink to match the bow tie and used foam stickers for a bit of dimension.

I love how this card turned out—it’s playful yet stylish! Customizing the suspender colors really changed the vibe, and those little flair pieces add so much character.

Happy Crafting, Heejung
