Sometimes I need a little break from paper — and stitching felt is the perfect change of pace. Today’s project is this cute vintage-style felt stocking ornament, made with October’s Festive Stocking Etched Dies from the Festive Felt Christmas Collection by Lolli & Grace for Spellbinders.
Base:
I die-cut the stocking from white felt for a sturdy base, and added a white ribbon loop at the top so it can hang on the tree.
Layers:
Then I die-cut all the little pieces with the Festive Stocking Etched Dies — light pink, pink, teal topaz, hot pink, and green felt — and layered them over the base one by one. The scalloped cuff, the round center medallion, and the heel and toe bands all come from the same die set.
Details: I placed a pink snowflake in the center of the medallion and tucked a wavy scalloped trim under the cuff. The layered heel and toe give it that sweet vintage look.
Stitching:
Finally, I hand-stitched all the pieces with sequins and tiny Clear Iridescent Beads. That little sparkle really makes the felt come alive!
Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope this little stocking adds some vintage charm to your Christmas tree. Happy Crafting, Heejung
