Warm Holiday Welcomes with Hero Arts

Hello, crafty friends!

Christmas in July is in full swing, and I am so excited to share a festive card featuring the brand new Home for the Holiday Collection from Hero Arts! There is nothing quite like a classic, beautifully decorated front door to bring all the cozy holiday vibes. For today’s card, I paired an eye-catching ink-blended door with a lush, detailed wreath filled with sweet seasonal treats.

Let’s dive into how this festive look came together!

Creating the Front Door Background: I started with a bold Dahlia cardstock base. To create the realistic dimension of the entryway, I used the Hero Arts Front Door Layering Stencil Set and ink-blended the layers sequentially using the Altenew Martian Terrain Fresh Dye Ink Bundle. This gave the door a stunning, rich depth.

Building the Festive Wreath: Using the Hero Arts Winter Wreath Die Set, I die-cut the wreath pieces from Fern cardstock. To create a more realistic, lush look, I layered two wreath pieces together, shading the bottom layer with a slightly darker green ink. I then added fine highlights to the leaves using a white gel pen to give the foliage extra texture and fullness.

  • Adding the Wreath Details: I die-cut the adorable orange slices and cinnamon sticks, giving them a quick touch of color before adhering them directly onto the wreath.

  • Assembling the Elegant Bow: For a beautiful multi-textured bow, I die-cut two layers. The bottom layer was cut from vibrant Poppy cardstock, and the top layer was cut from the dazzling white glitter cardstock found in the Antique White Assorted Treasured Cardstock pack. I layered them together and placed the finished bow right at the bottom of the wreath.

  • The Floating Sentiment: I die-cut the word “JOY” from gold metal mirror cardstock. To make it look like it’s floating perfectly inside the wreath, I cut a small strip from a Spellbinders Glimmer Specialty Clear Film Sheet, attached the gold letters to it, and secured the clear film seamlessly behind the wreath center.

Finishing Touches: To complete the project, I added a touch of festive sparkle all around the wreath using Spellbinders Red Mix Color Essential Gems.

I absolutely love how the bright pops of orange and glittery white contrast against the deep red door! It feels so classic yet uniquely detailed. Thank you so much for stopping by today, and I hope this inspires your early holiday crafting!

Happy Crafting!
