Elegant Hydrangeas with Simon Says Stamp May New Release!
Hello, crafty friends! Today, I’m sharing a soft and elegant card featuring more beautiful products from the Simon Says Stamp May Release. Hydrangeas are some of my absolute favorite flowers, so I was incredibly excited to play with the new Gorgeous Hydrangeas 3D Embossing Folder and Die set. I wanted to capture the lush, full look of real hydrangeas by creating beautiful layers and dimension. Let’s look at how this card came together!
The Background & Frame: I started by embossing a piece of crisp white cardstock using the Gorgeous Hydrangeas 3D Embossing Folder. Once embossed, I used blending brushes to add soft, subtle layers of ink over the design to gently bring out the details of the stem and leaves. To frame the beautiful scene, I die-cut white cardstock using the new A2 Notched Rectangle die and layered it over the background.
Creating the Dimensional Petals: To make the hydrangea bloom look extra full, I die-cut the flower section twice from white cardstock using the coordinating die. I then lined them up and ran them through the 3D embossing folder to match the texture perfectly.
Coloring & Assembly: I blended beautiful shades of purple and violet inks over the die-cut flower layers using my blending brushes. Once colored, I layered and attached them over the background using foam stickers to give the bloom amazing 3D dimension.
Finishing Touches: For a bit of subtle sparkle, I added some beautiful embellishments directly onto the centers of the petals. For the sentiment, I used the Bereavement Thank You Stamp set, stamping it with VersaMark ink, coating it with white embossing powder, and heat-setting it. I then die-cut the sentiment and popped it up with a foam sticker to complete the card.
