Saturdays are for Sweetness: A Candy Kebob Card

Happy Saturday, everyone! There’s nothing like the weekend to invite a little extra sweetness into our lives. Now, I have a confession: I’m not actually a huge fan of gummy candy! Aside from my daily gummy vitamin, you won’t often find me snacking on them. But my son? He loves them, and his sweet tooth was the perfect inspiration for today’s card!

This cheerful project is all about the Candy Kebob Die Set by Carly Tee. The set features so many fun and whimsical candy shapes that it was a total delight to “build” these kebobs! I envisioned a sweet rainbow base for my treats, so I die-cut a circle die in half to create a striped semi-circle for the kebobs to be “planted” in.

To make sure the colorful candies popped against the background, I took a simple white cardstock panel and softly blended Altenew’s Pool ink on the corners with a blending brush, leaving the center clean and bright. I die-cut the various gummy candies from a rainbow of Spellbinders color cardstocks and then used a simple white gel pen to draw high-definition highlights, giving them that irresistible, glossy, gummy look. For the sentiment, I used the Let’s Stick Together Stamp & Cut set, heat embossing the phrase in white on Blush cardstock and then die-cutting it to fit.

I hope this colorful, candy-filled card brings a little sunshine to your Saturday! Thank you for stopping by and letting me share a peek into my crafty weekend.

Happy Crafting, Heejung
