Spellbinders 12 Days of Stitchmas 2025 Day 2

DAY 2 – Merry & Bright Tag

Some days feel playful from the start, and Day 2 carries that lightness—
scraps of patterned paper, bright festive colors, and a stitched ampersand that glows softly at the center.
This tag came together from leftover strips saved through the years, each piece adding its own small spark to the design.

To begin, I trimmed white cardstock to 2 1/2″ width and 3″ length,
then punched the top using the 3-in-1 Tag Punch | Spellbinders,
creating a clean, simple tag base.

From my scrap box, I gathered leftover patterned papers in holiday colors and cut them into 1/2″ or 1/4″ strips.
These strips were adhered diagonally across the tag base, letting the colors shift in soft movement.
Once the panel was covered, I trimmed the excess along the tag edges with scissors,
and used the punch again at the top to match the original tag shape.

The words “MERRY” and “BRIGHT” were die cut from white cardstock,
and the ampersand was die cut from white glitter cardstock.
I stitched the ampersand with red thread, giving it a warm handmade touch,
then adhered all the letters onto the striped background.

This tag feels cheerful—simple scraps, stitched shine, and holiday colors layered with intention.

Day 2 adds a brighter moment to this stitched journey—
proof that even the smallest leftover strips can create something joyful.
Tomorrow brings Day 3, and another piece of the story unfolds.

Happy Crafting!
