Holy Night Dimensional Box Card | Simon Says Stamp November Release

Hello friends!

Today I’m sharing a sweet, dimensional box-arch card created with the brand-new Simon Says Stamp “Holy Night” stamp and die set.
I love interactive and 3D cards, so as soon as I saw this adorable nativity set, I knew I wanted to build a layered scene that feels like it’s softly glowing under the night sky.

This card looks detailed, but each step is surprisingly simple—and the finished piece stands beautifully on its own, making it perfect for holiday décor or gifting!

Let’s take a closer look at how it came together.

Arch Panels

I began by die-cutting two large arches using the Spellbinders Arch Labels and Tag Etched Dies.

  • One arch became the night-sky front panel,

  • and the second one became the back panel, where I stamped the “Peace on Earth” sentiment in red ink.

Creating the Night Sky

The main arch panel was ink-blended with Navy ink to create a deep evening sky.
I added a flurry of snowy stars using Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Perfect White Splatter Medium.

The large star from the Holy Night set was:

  1. stamped in VersaMark,

  2. heat-embossed with gold embossing powder,

  3. colored with markers,

  4. hand-cut, and adhered to the sky.

To give the star a soft, glowing halo, I blended a touch of Distress Oxide Squeezed Lemonade.

Building the Box Base (3D Structure)

To create the dimensional base:

  1. Cut white cardstock to 8 1/2″ × 1 1/2″

  2. Score at: 1/2″, 2″, 6 1/4″, 7 3/4″

This forms the wrap-around box at the bottom.

Inside Steps

Cut two strips at 5 1/4″ × 1/2″, score the ends, and adhere inside the box.
These act as support “steps” for the layered nativity pieces.

Scene Layers

For the front hill, I used the Pretty Pink Posh Snowy Hills Borders Dies, trimmed to 4 1/4″ × 2″.
The second step holds the stamped city silhouette, trimmed to 2″ tall.

All characters—Mary, Joseph, Baby Jesus, and the lamb—were:

  1. stamped in black

  2. colored with markers

  3. Cut with the coordinating dies

  4. and layered across the steps to create depth.

I heat-embossed the “Holy Night” sentiment in gold and added gold gems as accents.

Final Assembly

  1. First, attach the box base to the back side of the ink-blended night-sky arch, letting the box wrap slightly around it.

  2. THEN, adhere the second white arch (with the red sentiment) behind everything, covering the glue tabs and creating a beautifully finished back.

This little trick makes a huge difference in giving the card a clean, professional look.

Soft, glowing, dimensional, and full of charm—this nativity card truly feels magical on display.
I hope it inspires you to try a 3D scene card this holiday season!
