Nighttime Pool Party with Summerween Ghouls!

Hi friends! Welcome back to my blog! Today, I’m sharing another fun card featuring the Hero Arts July Release Summerween Collection.

Ghosts are traditionally creatures of the night, but these cute little ghouls are having a summer night pool party while dreaming of soaking up the hot sun! Who says ghosts can’t wish for a golden suntan?

Here is how I brought this fun summer night scene to life:

Blending the Night Sky:

I started by ink blending a rich background using deep blue and black inks to create a dark summer night sky. To add stars, I splattered white pearl ink/paint across the top panel for a magical, shimmering constellation effect.

  • Making the Glowing Full Moon:

    To create the bright full moon, I die-cut the circle die (which is actually the beach ball die from the set!) and colored it with vivid yellow ink before adhering it near the top of the starry sky.

  • Stamping, Coloring, and Die-Cutting:

    I stamped the adorable images from the Hero Arts Beach Boos Stamp & Cut set with black ink, colored them with markers, and used the matching dies to cut everything out cleanly.

  • Ground Panel & Sentiment:

    I cut a piece of white cardstock to 2″ x 4 1/4″ for the ground panel. On the bottom left, I stamped the fun sentiment, “GHOULS JUST WANNA HAVE SUN,” from the Ghoul Summer Stamp Set in crisp black ink.

  • Assembling the Scene:

    I adhered the white ground panel onto the bottom of the blended night sky background. Then, I glued down the moon, palm tree, and the cute ghost pool float. Finally, to create extra depth and pop, I used foam adhesive to attach the two foreground ghosts holding their ice cream cone and cool summer drink!
