Golden Tulips & Textured Elegance: A 3D Embossed Floral Card

The second card in the Yana’s Tulips Collection series moves from watercoloring to the brilliant shine of hot foiling. By combining the Tulips and Daffodils Press + Foil Plate with intricate 3D embossing and layered gold frames, this project exudes luxury and depth. It’s a perfect example of how mixing different textures—matte gold foil, raised embossing, and metallic cardstock—can create a high-end, professional finish.

Glimmer Hot Foiling:

The floral design is created by hot foiling the Tulips and Daffodils Press + Foil Plate onto white cardstock using Matte Gold Hot Foil. This provides a sophisticated, muted metallic outline that serves as the base for the coloring.

Stencil Ink Blending:

Using the coordinating stencils from the bundle, vibrant shades of pink, yellow, and orange are blended onto the tulips and daffodils. This adds soft yet impactful color that perfectly complements the gold foiling.

3D Embossing for Texture:

To add interest to the white space, the panel is embossed with the Molded Frame 3D Embossing Folder from the Yana’s Daisies Collection. This creates a subtle, architectural texture that elevates the entire background.

Framing the Focal Point:

An ornate gold frame is die-cut from Brushed Gold Cardstock using the Linear Touch Rectangles Etched Dies. This frame is adhered over the floral image using foam stickers to create a beautiful recessed window effect.

Sentiments and Finishing Touches:

The sentiment, “Sending a bouquet of hugs,” is foiled in Matte Gold onto black cardstock using the Bouquet of Hugs Sentiments Press + Foil Plate & Die Set. After die-cutting, it is popped up with foam adhesive. The card is finished with Antique Gold Pearl Embellishments for a final touch of vintage-inspired elegance.

Combining hot foiling with 3D embossing is one of my favorite ways to add a “wow” factor to a card. The way the light catches the Matte Gold foil against the raised pattern of the molded frame makes this card feel like a small piece of framed art.
