Interactive Halloween Slider Cards featuring Hero Arts Spooky Smile Collection

Hi everyone! Today, I’m excited to share a set of three interactive Halloween slider cards featuring the new Spooky Smile Collection by Hero Arts.

All three of these cards feature fun, interactive mouth-slider mechanisms where pulling the bottom tab opens the mouth to reveal a hidden surprise message! To create the sliding structure for each card, I used the essential base die set: Hero Arts Big Mouth Slider Etched Dies from the Crackin’ Christmas Collection. I doubled up the slider base die-cuts for extra durability and smooth sliding.

Here is a look at how each card came together!

1. Big Mouth Cat Interactive Slider Card

First up is this adorable spooky black cat!

 

  • Card Base & Background: Built on a Blush cardstock base.

  • Cat Assembly: The main cat body is die-cut from Raven cardstock using the Big Mouth Cat Die Set. The eyes are layered with Peridot cardstock, the nose with Blush cardstock, and the cute bow tie with Mulberry cardstock.

Interactive Details: The opening mouth section features a sentiment from the Hero Arts Bite Nite Stamp & Cut Set, stamped with VersaMark ink and heat-embossed with white embossing powder. The bottom tab is stamped with “PULL”. When you pull the tab, the mouth slides open to reveal the hidden sentiment “ALL TREATS NO TRICKS” stamped in black ink!

2. Big Mouth Vampire Interactive Slider Card

Next is a fun and slightly silly vampire card!

 

Card Base & Background: Built on a Celestial cardstock base.

Vampire Assembly: Die-cut using the Big Mouth Vampire Die Set. The hair is die-cut from Raven cardstock, the face and sliding mouth piece from Cascade cardstock, and the collar/outfit from Mulberry cardstock. Red gems are added to the eyes for a sparkling, spooky effect!

  • Interactive Details: When the mouth is closed, it displays “HAPPY BITE NITE!”. Inside the mouth area, the inner piece is cut from Poppy cardstock and stamped with “WITCH BETTER HAVE MY CANDY. ‘CUZ I BITE!” from the Hero Arts Bite Nite Stamp & Cut Set, heat-embossed in crisp white. Pulling the tab slides open the mouth to reveal the bright red interior and witty surprise text!

 

3. Big Mouth Jack-o'-Lantern Interactive Slider Card

Finally, a sweet pastel take on a classic Halloween icon!

  • Card Base & Background: Set against a vibrant Waterfall cardstock background.

Pumpkin Assembly: Die-cut using the Big Mouth Jack-o-Lantern Die Set using Blush cardstock for a soft pastel look. The eyes are layered with Chaffron and Raven cardstock, while the stem and curling vines are cut from Gold Metallic cardstock for a subtle shimmer.

Interactive Details: Inside the sliding mouth structure is a warm layer of Chaffron cardstock. Stamped with “PULL” on the bottom tab, pulling down reveals the hidden sentiment “HAPPY HALLOWEEN” in black ink!
