Interactive Summerween Fun: A Floating Ghost Pool Spinner Card!

Hi friends! Welcome back to my blog! Today, I’m excited to share a fun interactive card that repurposes a piece from yesterday’s project!

Remember the oval window piece I die-cut out of yesterday’s stenciled background? Never let good crafting pieces go to waste! Today, I used that leftover stenciled oval to create a mini pool scene complete with spinning floating elements!

Here is how I brought this interactive Summerween card together:

Card Base & Sentiment Stamping:

I used bright Beeswax cardstock as my card panel. At the bottom, I stamped the playful sentiment, “have a boo-bly day!”, from the Hero Arts Ghoul Summer Stamp Set using crisp black ink.

Creating the Pool Frame:

I die-cut a white oval frame to create the rim of the mini pool. I attached the leftover blue floral stenciled (Flower Power Layering Stencil Set) oval piece inside, and popped up the white frame using foam adhesive for dimensional pool walls!

Stamping, Coloring, and Spinning Mechanism:

Using the Hero Arts Beach Boos Stamp & Cut set, I stamped the cute ghost lounging on an inner tube and the Jack-o’-lantern beach ball, then colored them with alcohol markers.

To bring the pool to life, I mounted a card spinner underneath both images inside the oval pool. Now, both the floating ghost and the beach ball can spin and gently float around on the water for an extra dose of playful fun!
