Sweet Snowman Swing with Spellbinders July Club Kits!

Hi everyone! Today I’m sharing a cozy holiday card featuring the exclusive “Candy Cane Swing” die set, which is a wonderful bonus item available exclusively for those who subscribe to The Deluxe Caboodle Value Club (All Clubs Crate) this month! I paired it with this month’s textured embossing folder club to create a soft, wintry scene.

What makes this card extra special is that the candy cane actually swings back and forth when you touch it! Here is how I brought this sweet interactive snowman to life.

  • The Cozy Background: I started by creating the textured card base using Blush cardstock. I ran it through my die-cutting machine with this month’s 3D Embossing Folder, “Snuggly Knit”. The intricate knit pattern instantly adds a warm, sweater-like texture to the background that fits the winter theme perfectly.

  • The Candy Cane Swing: Using the exclusive “Candy Cane Swing” die set, I die-cut the classic candy cane from a combination of Cranberry and white cardstock. I topped it with a large, vibrant bow cut from Poppy cardstock, and trimmed the top of the swing with festive holly leaves and sprigs cut from Fern and Rainforest cardstock.

The Snowman: Next, I assembled the adorable little snowman. I die-cut his cute winter hat using Waterfall and Teal Topaz cardstock, and made him a matching scarf using Rainforest cardstock to keep the color palette cheerful and sweet against the soft pink background.

  • The Interactive Swing Mechanism: To create the swinging motion, I attached the top of the candy cane swing to the background using a circle foam sticker. This allows the entire candy cane and snowman piece to freely move and swing back and forth!

  • The Sentiment: For the perfect elegant touch, I used this month’s BetterPress & Foil Club, the “Festive Forest” Press & Foil Plate. I hot-foiled the “Happy Holidays” sentiment plate onto white cardstock using Matte Gold Foil, die-cut it with the coordinating die, and attached it to the top of the card.

I love how the bold combination of Cranberry and Poppy stands out against the soft, textured Blush cardstock background. Adding that simple circle foam sticker to make the candy cane actually swing brings so much playful joy to the card, and the shimmering matte gold foiled sentiment ties it all together beautifully! It’s such a fun perk of grabbing the full Caboodle Crate this month.
