Let’s Ride into Summer with the Hero Arts July My Monthly Hero Kit!

Happy July! Today, I am thrilled to share a super fun and adorable card featuring the Let’s Ride Die Set from the main Hero Arts My Monthly Hero July Kit.

The absolute highlight of this card is the lovely character and her sweet little puppy, cruising along with a basket completely overflowing with fresh, juicy lemons! It is the perfect representation of carefree summer days, and it was pure joy to piece together all the paper-cut details for this whimsical scene.

Here is how I built this paper-pieced scooter adventure:

  • Setting the Scene: For a soft, clear summer sky effect, I used Breeze cardstock as my main background panel. To create a beautiful focal point and frame the characters, I die-cut white cardstock using an Essential Arches Die and adhered it right in the center.

  • Assembling the Motor Scooter: I had so much fun paper-piecing the vintage scooter and sidecar! I die-cut the main body pieces from Mint cardstock, and used Alabaster, Raven, and Silver Metal cardstock to assemble all the intricate details, wheels, and metallic accents.

  •  

  • Dressing the Character & Puppy: To bring the driver to life, I die-cut her elegant dress from Blush and Tutu pink cardstocks. Her flowing scarf and the bright lemons in the basket were cut from sunny Beeswax cardstock. As for her adorable co-pilot, the sweet puppy was die-cut using rich Acorn cardstock, complete with his own little matching helmet and goggles!

  • Adding the Sentiment: To finish the card with an encouraging message, I used the Perfect Pairs Stamp and Die set. I stamped “YOU GOT THIS” onto black cardstock, heat-embossed it with crisp white embossing powder for a bold contrast, and used the matching die to cut it out before popping it onto the scene.

This card fills me with so much happiness—there is nothing quite like a bright color palette combined with dimensional paper-piecing to make a project truly special! The Let’s Ride Die Set makes it incredibly easy to customize your own summer joyride with different cardstock colors.
