Tote-Ally Awesome: A Trendy Paris-Inspired Tote Card
Hello, everyone! I’m back with a fun project featuring the Tote-Ally Awesome Collection from Hero Arts’ April release. If you’ve been following the recent trends in the US, you’ve probably seen those iconic Trader Joe’s tote bags everywhere. This collection perfectly captures that vibe, and I couldn’t wait to put my own spin on it!
Creating the Geometric Background To set the stage, I used Windy and Cascade cardstock. I cut them diagonally to create a sharp, modern bi-color background that adds a nice sense of movement to the A2 card base.
Building the Tote Bag The star of the show is the Tote Bag Die. I used Indigo cardstock for the structural elements—the handles, the bottom trim, and the top border—to give it a sturdy, classic look. For the main body of the bag, I used a Background Builder stamp with a water droplet pattern, inking it in a vibrant blue on white cardstock before die-cutting the base.
The front pocket features a sentiment from the Totes the Best stamp set, stamped in a bold red ink for a pop of color. For the charms, I used the Tiny Treasure stamp and die set. I created an Eiffel Tower keychain with silver embossing and a takeout coffee cup keychain with a sparkling gold heat embossing. I then colored them with markers to enhance the details.
Final Flourishes To finish the card, I added a cluster of white daisies using the Got Flair die set from last month’s release. Lastly, I added some gold embellishments to complement the coffee cup and give the design a touch of elegance and a professional sparkle.
Happy Crafting!
