April Stitching Die of the Month: Rooting For You Garden Card

Hello, crafty friends! Today I’m sharing a fun, textured project featuring the April 2026 Stitching Die of the Month (Rooting For You Die Set). This set is so unique because it allows you to “plant” your veggies right into the card!

To create the garden ground, I used Fawn cardstock and die-cut the ground border. To give it a realistic, earthy feel, I ran it through the April 2026 Embossing Folder of the Month (Market Weave). After embossing, I used a blending brush with some darker ink to add shading, which really brought out the 3D texture of the “soil.”

For the vegetables—carrots, onions, and beets—I die-cut them first and then added extra color using blending brushes to give them a more natural look. Once the coloring was done, I added the hand-stitched details, which always adds such a cozy, handmade touch. The lush green leaves were also die-cut and ink-blended before being tucked into the ground.

The sentiment “You Keep Me Grounded” comes from the April 2026 Clear Stamp & Die of the Month (Fresh-Packed). I heat embossed it in white on black cardstock for that crisp, clean contrast. For a final bit of fun, I added some “gold in the ground”—sparkly gold gems scattered across the soil for a touch of shimmer!

  • Creating the Ground: Die-cut the ground border from Fawn cardstock. Emboss it with the Market Weave folder and add ink blending to create depth and shadows.

  • Veggie Details: Die-cut the vegetables and leaves. Use blending brushes to add realistic gradients of color.

  • Stitching: Complete the stitching on the carrot, onion, and beet using coordinating embroidery floss.

  • Assembly: Adhere the ground to a soft blue blended background. “Plant” your vegetables and leaves into the scene.

  • Sentiment: White heat emboss the sentiment from the Fresh-Packed set onto black cardstock and die-cut.

  • Finishing: Add gold gems to the ground for a little unexpected sparkle!

I hope this card “roots” some inspiration in your crafty heart today! It was so much fun to combine the texture of the embossing folder with the intricate details of the stitching dies.

Happy Crafting, Heejung
