Hop Into Spring with Simon Hurley & Spellbinders!

Hi everyone! I’m back with more inspiration from the newly launched Happy Spring Collection by Simon Hurley. Today, I’m sharing two more cards that capture the playful and colorful spirit of Easter and spring. These projects are a mix of detailed textures and adorable characters!

Ornate Egg & Bunny Backdrop

This card is all about the “wow” factor of 3D textures.

The Background:

I embossed white cardstock using the Ornate Eggs 3D Embossing Folder and then used the Layered Ornate Eggs Stencil with soft pastel inks to color the design. To make the details pop, I used acrylic markers to highlight the fine lines on the eggs.

The Scene:

I die-cut a cute bunny and eggs using the Bunny Buddies Etched Dies. For the backdrop, I used Seaside cardstock with the Perfect Touch Arches Etched Dies to create a focused frame for our bunny friend.

Assembly:

The panel was layered onto a Blush cardstock base. I used foam stickers to pop up the bunny for a 3D effect.

Sentiment:

I layered the “HAPPY EASTER” sentiment from the Bunny Buddies set using white and Brushing cardstock.

Fresh Picked Bunny Basket

The second card features a busy garden scene filled with spring treats.

Sky & Grass:

I created the sky by blending Pool ink onto white cardstock with a large blending brush. For the lush lawn, I used Peridot cardstock and a Landscape Edge die.

The Basket:

The star of the scene is the large basket, which I die-cut using this month’s Small Die of the Month Club.

Filling the Basket:

I filled the basket with an abundance of leaves, carrots, and eggs, all die-cut from various cardstocks.

The Bunny Duo:

I brought back the Bunny Buddies to interact with the basket. To make them come to life, I added tiny details and highlights using a white gel pen.

Sentiment:

I finished the card with a “fresh picked” sentiment from this month’s Clear Stamp & Die of the Month Club.
