Spellbinders 12 Days of Stitchmas 2025 Day 12

DAY 12 – Merry & Bright Nutcracker Tag

12 Days of Stitchmas 2025 Advent Calendar

Day 12 arrives dressed in color—
a bright, joyful finish to this slow and steady December stitching journey.
A classic nutcracker stands tall at the center,
woven with gold thread and framed by a patchwork of festive scraps.
The final tag feels like a vibrant curtain call,
closing the series with warmth and cheer.

Tag Details

For the base, I chose bold holiday patterned paper
and trimmed it into 1/2″ diagonal strips.
Each piece was lined across the tag, creating a vibrant woven background
full of red, green, and winter brightness.

To soften the center, I die cut an oval using
Scallop and Stitched Edge Ovals Etched Dies
from white cardstock, then adhered it to the striped base.

The nutcracker from Day 12 of the Stitchmas Advent Calendar
was die cut in traditional colors—
Poppy, Green, Black, and gold glitter cardstock for the epaulets.
Each stitched detail was completed with
gold metallic thread, adding a festive sparkle
that catches the light just enough to feel celebratory.

For the sentiment, I used the
Merry Messages Plate & Die Set – Wonderland Collection,
hot foiled in white on Poppy cardstock,
then die cut and attached using foam tape
for a lifted, polished finish.

Bright, stitched, layered—
Day 12 brings the collection to a joyful close.

This final tag carries the heartbeat of the whole series—
scraps turned into color, shapes stitched into stories,
and small handmade pieces bright enough to warm December days.
Thank you for walking through all twelve days with me.

Happy crafting, Heejung.
