Spellbinders- October’s EOM
I’m thrilled to share two festive Christmas cards I created using the fabulous Spellbinders October Club Kits! Both projects beautifully showcase the texture from the Spellbinders October Embossing Folder Club and elements from the Clear Stamp & Die of the Month Club and Small Die of the Month Club.
Spellbinders Products Used:
Holiday Flurry Embossing Folder (from the Spellbinders October Embossing Folder Club)
- To You and Yours Clear Stamp & Die Set (from the Clear Stamp & Die of the Month Club)
Snow Day Friends Die Set (from the Small Die of the Month Club)
Magic For U Die Set (Deluxe Caboodle Value Club Bonus Item)
Very Merry Embossed Tree
The first card, featuring the bright lime-green Christmas tree, is built on a background created from Waterfall Cardstock. I first embossed the panel using the October Embossing Folder Club’s Holiday Flurry Embossing Folder to add a stunning snowflake texture. To enhance the dimension, I blended Mariner Distress Ink around the edges with a blending brush, creating a beautiful shading effect that contrasts with the bright focal point.
The tree image itself comes from the To You and Yours Clear Stamp & Die Set from the Clear Stamp & Die of the Month Club. I stamped it onto Rainforest Cardstock using VersaMark Ink, applied white embossing powder, and heat-set it before cutting it out with the coordinating die.
For a subtle metallic frame, I die-cut the same tree shape from Gold Metallic Cardstock and matted it underneath before attaching the tree to the card with foam adhesive. The final sentiment, “BELIEVE IN MAGIC,” was die-cut from Gold Metallic Cardstock using the Magic For U Die Set, which is the bonus item for the Deluxe Caboodle Value Club, and adhered below the tree. I finished the card by scattering a few Antique Gold Pearls for extra sparkle.
Charming Snow Day Friends Scene
The second card features a charming winter scene. I began by embossing a piece of Seaside Color Wheel Cardstock with the same Holiday Flurry Embossing Folder from the October Embossing Folder Club, creating a softly textured snowy backdrop.
The delightful scene—which includes the layered pine tree, the classic snowman, and the two bundled-up children—was created using the Snow Day Friends Die Set from the Small Die of the Month Club. I die-cut and assembled all the pieces from various colored cardstocks and attached them to the card front using foam stickers for wonderful dimension.
The sentiment, “WISHING YOU A SEASON FULL OF WONDER,” was stamped in red ink using a stamp from the Clear Stamp & Die of the Month Club set. I die-cut this with its coordinating die and also attached it with foam adhesive. The final touch was adding a few clear Crystal Gems to mimic glistening snow and ice.
