Spellbinders- October’s DOMST

Hello everyone! Today, I’m excited to share a Christmas card I created using the Spellbinders October Stitching Die Club set, Peppermint Prancer. This design combines an adorable reindeer and a peppermint ornament to spell out “JOY”!

Creating the Background

  1. Cardstock: I started with Bellini ColorWheel Cardstock.

  2. Embossing: I used the Season Sparkles 3D Embossing Folder to create a stunning, dimensional background featuring ornaments and snowflakes.

  3. Coloring: I applied Rouge Ink to the embossed ornaments using a blending brush. I also added highlights with a metallic marker to make the background subtle yet festive and sparkling.

Assembling the Main Ornament and Reindeer (Peppermint Prancer)

  1. Peppermint Ornament: This is the focus of the card, created with the Peppermint Prancer stitching dies. I die-cut the pieces from white cardstock and Pomegranate ColorWheel Cardstock. The red and white pattern was then carefully stitched using silver metallic thread to create a beautiful ornament.

  2. Reindeer: The reindeer was die-cut using the Peppermint Prancer set and assembled using Truffle ColorWheel Cardstock and Acorn ColorWheel Cardstock for its body and face details.

  3. Embellishments: I used glossy red dots (Red Dots) to decorate the reindeer’s nose and the center of the peppermint ornament, adding a nice pop of dimension.

Completing the ‘JOY’ Sentiment

  1. Letters: The ‘J’ and ‘Y’ letters were die-cut using the coordinating alphabet dies included in the stitching die set.

  2. Finishing Touch: I finished the letters by adding a highlight effect using a white gel pen, which helps them stand out and gives the entire card a final polished look.

The combination of the Bellini, Pomegranate, Truffle, and Acorn ColorWheel Cardstocks is beautiful, and the detailed stitching truly elevates the quality of the card! Your blog readers will surely be inspired.
