Spellbinders- BPOM Aug 2025
Hello, crafty friends!
I’m thrilled to be back on the blog today to share a project I created using the incredible Spellbinders BetterPress Club August 2025 collection. This month’s Club kits are filled with charming ocean-themed goodies, and I couldn’t wait to dive in and create a card that truly makes a splash!
My goal was to create a dimensional card that captures the feeling of looking into a vibrant underwater world. I achieved this by using the fantastic Underwater Tunnel Die, which creates multiple layers and a fun folding design. The result is a card that is not only beautiful but also has a lovely interactive element.
Let’s take a closer look at the details and how this card came together.
Step-by-Step Process
Prepare the Layers: Die-cut three separate card panels using the Underwater Tunnel Die.
Create the Background: Use the BetterPress Press Plate from the August 2025 to press the fish pattern onto the bottom panel with Hero Arts Ombre Tide Pool to Navy ink.
Die-cut Elements: Die-cut the seaweed and coral pieces from cardstock using the Underwater Tunnel Die. Die-cut the anchor and any other decorative elements you wish to add.
Hot Foil the Sentiment: Using the Moondust Hot Foil and the corresponding die, hot-foil and die-cut the sentiment from the Better Press Club Aug. 2025.
Assemble the Card:
Begin by adhering the pressed background layer to the inside of your card base.
Next, attach the middle layer (Oceanside Cardstock) to the card base, making sure to fold the side tabs.
Tuck and adhere the seaweed and coral pieces between the layers for a dimensional effect.
Finally, attach the top layer (Teal Topaz Cardstock), again folding the tabs, to complete the tunnel effect.
Add Finishing Touches:
Adhere the sentiment and anchor to the front of the card.
Die-cut the anchor with the silver mirror cardstock, attach it to the top layer.
Use a white gel pen to add highlights to the seaweed for a more realistic look.
Use a blending brush and a dark blue ink to lightly blend the corners of the top layer to add a cohesive, oceanic feel.
Glue small pearl dots onto the fish in the background to add a pearlescent shine.
This card was such a joy to create! I love the outcome and how all the elements, from the BetterPress background to the layered tunnel effect, work together to create a stunning scene. The Spellbinders BetterPress Club Kits never disappoint, and the August kit is no exception to that. I hope this project inspires you to try your hand at creating a dimensional card. It’s so much easier than it looks!
Thank you for stopping by today! Happy crafting, and I’ll see you in my next post.
