A Spooktacular Pupkin Halloween Card
Hello, crafty friends! It’s that time of year again, and I’m so excited to share my latest Halloween card featuring the adorable Pupkin die from Spellbinders. This little guy in his pumpkin costume is just too cute to spook!
For the background of my card, I used the Perforated Stamp Edges Embossing Folder on a piece of gray cardstock to create a wonderful textured wall. I then used some light ink blending to add a subtle shadow around the corners, giving the card a bit of depth and dimension.
Next, I brought in the Open House Door Base die set. I die-cut the door from black cardstock, and then used silver mirror cardstock for the door handle and other decorative elements to make them pop. To add a touch of warmth and create the illusion of light coming from inside the house, I blended some yellow ink behind the window pane die-cuts.
And now for the star of the show: the Pupkin! I die-cut the dog’s body from Fawn cardstock to create his adorable tan fur. The pumpkin costume was die-cut from vibrant Carrot cardstock, which is the perfect shade of orange for a pumpkin. I love how the little skull treat bucket adds a hint of Halloween mischief!
Finally, let’s talk about the sentiments. The “hello” sentiment was created using the Be Bold Grimmer Sentiment Plate set. I hot foiled it in gold and then die-cut it to pop it right next to the door. Below that, the “you’ve got this” sentiment comes from the Ideal Moments BetterPress Plate. I hot foiled this in gold onto a piece of black cardstock and then die-cut it to add the perfect little message of encouragement. The combination of the two sentiments adds a lovely, personal touch.
This card was a lot of fun to create, and I’m thrilled with how all the elements came together. The combination of the textured background, the elegant door, and the charming pup makes for a unique and heartwarming Halloween greeting.
I hope this post inspires you to get a little spooky and creative with your paper crafting projects.
Happy crafting!
