Fall Adventures Cards with Spellbinders
Hello, crafty friends! π
I had so much fun playing with October’s “Fall Adventures I Want It All! Bundle” by Allison Frazier from Spellbinders, and today I’m sharing three fall cards I made with it. The cute little woodland friends come from the collection’s original critter dies, and this month’s fall add-ons dress them up in their harvest best for the sweetest autumn scenes!
Corn Maze Card
Background:
Start with a white cardstock base. Die-cut Fern cardstock with the Landscape Edges Etched Dies and adhere it along the bottom for the field, then blend a soft sky blue above it with a blending brush.
Tip: I use Spellbinders’ large blending brush for the sky β just a few light sweeps give the softest, most natural sky blue.
Focal Images:
The star of this card is the deer from April’s “Woodland Trio” Etched Dies β dress it in denim-blue overalls die-cut from Cascade cardstock, with boots from October’s “Harvest Style” Etched Dies, add the cozy orange scarf, and tuck the little garden tool into its hand. For the corn field, die-cut the corn stalks from September’s “Scarecrow Harvest” Stitching Die of the Month (DOMST-SEP26) and arrange them behind the deer.
Then build the wooden Corn Maze sign (including the lettering), stack the hay bales, and fill the bucket with corn ears from October’s “Harvest Days” Etched Dies β and the long wooden post for the sign is from April’s “Trails End” Etched Dies.
Hay Rides Card
Background:
Ink-blend a soft blue sky. For the ground, die-cut Beeswax cardstock with the Landscape Edges Etched Dies (the same dies as the first card) β the soft yellow tone feels like a harvested field with hay scattered around.
Focal Images:
The star of this card is the raccoon from April’s “Trailside Trio” Etched Dies β and since it’s on a hay ride, I gave it a cool cowboy look: a brown hat, an orange shirt die-cut from Saffron cardstock, denim overalls die-cut from Cosmic Sky cardstock for that true dark-denim feel, and a scarf die-cut from Fern cardstock.
Build the wooden Hay Rides and Pumpkins signs from Fawn cardstock, the red wagon filled with hay, the crow riding on top of the hay, and scatter the pumpkins around them β all from October’s “Harvest Days” Etched Dies.
The long wooden posts for the signs are from April’s “Trails End” Etched Dies, die-cut from Truffle cardstock.
A Cozy Hello Card
Background:
Cut a window in the card base with the Playful Stitched Panels Etched Dies, then attach vellum paper behind the window.
The stenciled scene inside is quite bold on its own, so the vellum softens it and lets the fox really stand out β a little trick I learned while making last month’s Large Die Club card!
Focal Images:
Die-cut the fox from April’s “Trailside Trio” Etched Dies and dress it in the outfit from October’s “Harvest Style” Etched Dies β a pink sweater, purple pants, and a little pink bow.Β
Die-cut the tree from September’s “Sunflowers & Shower” Large Die of the Month (DOML-SEP26), and the falling leaves, apples, and basket from October’s “Harvest Days” Etched Dies. Arrange them around the window to make a cozy autumn scene.
Sentiment:
Hot-foil the “A COZY hello FROM ALL OF US” sentiment plate from September’s “Thankful Friends” Press & Foil Club Kit (BPOM-SEP26) in rose gold on black cardstock, die-cut it, and add it along the bottom.
Inside Surprise:
Stencil an autumn landscape inside the card with September’s “Changing Seasons” Stencil of the Month (SOM-SEP26) β it glows softly through the vellum window on the front. This card is made of two cards attached in a zigzag, so the stenciled panel opens like a door from left to right, leaving a blank space to write your message.
Thank you so much for stopping by today!
I hope these little fall friends brought some autumn warmth to your day β and I hope you’ll have fun mixing dies from different collections, just like I did.
Happy Crafting, Heejung!
