Vibrant Layered Heart “Thinking of You” Card

Hello friends! Today I’m sharing a colorful and heartfelt card featuring the Essentially Yours Sentiments Collection from Spellbinders. The star of this project is the Layered Thinking of You die, which creates a stunning focal point with its elegant script and beautiful dimension.

To create this look, I first worked on the colorful background using the Stripe Right Etched Dies. I die-cut several strips from various colored cardstock and adhered them diagonally to create a seamless, vibrant pattern. For the main window, I used the Essential Hearts Etched Dies from the Floral Reflection Collection to cut a heart shape out of a white cardstock panel.

To give the card depth, I used foam adhesive around the heart window to lift it off the striped background. I also added some delicate white flowers, die-cut using the Pink Lemonade Stand Tags Etched Dies, tucking them around the heart for a soft, feminine touch. For the sentiment, I stacked two to three layers of the die-cut “Thinking of You” to give it a bold, 3D effect. To finish everything off, I added a few white and light blue enamel dots for a clean and polished look.

  • Creating the Background: Die-cut various colors of cardstock using the Stripe Right Etched Dies. Adhere these strips diagonally onto a base panel to create a colorful striped backdrop.

  • Die-Cutting the Window: Use the Essential Hearts Etched Dies (Floral Reflection Collection) to cut a heart window into a white front panel.

  • Assembling the Layers: Apply foam adhesive to the back of the white heart-window panel and center it over the striped background to create a shadow box effect.

  • Adding Florals: Die-cut small flowers from white cardstock using the Pink Lemonade Stand Tags Etched Dies. Arrange and adhere them near the edges of the heart window.

  • The Sentiment: Die-cut the Layered Thinking of You sentiment multiple times from white cardstock. Glue the layers together to create a thick, chipboard-like piece and adhere it across the heart.

  • Final Touches: Scatter white and light blue enamel dots around the design to balance the colors.

I hope this card brings a little bit of sunshine to your day. I also added some white and light blue enamel dots as a finishing touch. Thank you so much for stopping by!

Happy Crafting!
