Celebrating a graduation is a momentous occasion, and what better way to honor a graduate than with a classic, cheerful card? Today, Iβm sharing a project featuring the Classic Mouse Graduation Collection, perfect for marking this special milestone with a touch of nostalgia and style.
To set a clean and bright tone for this card, I used Cascade Cardstock for the base. The light blue provides a beautiful, airy backdrop for the main elements.
The Frame: I die-cut white cardstock using the Nested Tree Frame Dies to create a delicate, bubbly border that draws the eye toward the center.
The Character: For that iconic face, I used the Steamboat Willie Duo Etched Diesfrom the Say Cheese Classic Mouse collection. The graduation gown, sneakers, arms, and legs were all created using the Classic Mouse Graduation Dies, featuring a sophisticated Merlot and Saffron color palette.
The Sentiments & Accents: For the finishing touches, I used the Classic Mouse Graduation Sentiments Press Plate & Die set. I die-cut the flying mortarboards from Gold Metal Cardstock to add a metallic shine. For the “Congrats Grad!” sentiment, I used white hot foiling on Raven Cardstock before die-cutting it to make the text pop against the dark background.
Adding those shimmering gold accents really ties the whole celebratory theme together!
