Camp More, Worry Less: A Nighttime Forest Adventure
Summer is just around the corner, and nothing says “summer fun” like a cozy night under the stars! Today, I’m thrilled to share a whimsical card featuring the Summer Camp Collection from Spellbinders. This project captures the magic of a forest camping trip, complete with a starry night sky, a crackling campfire, and the most adorable raccoon camper. Whether you’re an outdoor enthusiast or just love cute forest critters, this collection is perfect for sending a little moonlight to your loved ones.
Creating the Night Sky: To create a deep twilight atmosphere, I blended dark navy and light purple inks using a blending brush. For the finishing touch, I used a brush to splatter white ink across the panel, mimicking a vast, sparkling field of stars.
Building the Landscape: I used the Landscape Edges die to cut Rainforest cardstock for the grassy ground. To give it a nighttime feel, I blended the edges with dark green ink for added depth and shadow.
Setting the Scene: The tall trees and the cozy hammock are from the Trails End set. I positioned them to frame the scene perfectly.
The Camper & Campfire: The adorable raccoon was die-cut using the Trail Side Trio set. For his gear, I used the Camp Days die set to create his hat, shoes, shorts, and the marshmallow roasting stick. The glowing campfire was also assembled using this set to add that perfect “summer camp” vibe.
The Sentiment: For the finishing touch, I used the Summertime Sentiment stamp set. I heat embossed the sentiment in white on black cardstock to make it pop against the midnight sky.
