This black cat might look a little grumpy, but that’s what makes it so irresistibly adorable!
Creating the Metallic Debossed Background: I embossed Anchor cardstock using the Happy Jacks Embossing Folder ( Embossing Club). Instead of using the raised side, I used the debossed side as the front face. To give it extra drama, I shaded the top section with dark ink for a deep gradient effect, then colored the debossed jack-o’-lantern faces with a metallic marker. This makes it look like a spooky gang of glowing jack-o’-lanterns is lurking right behind the cat!
Die-Cutting & Assembling the Scaredy Cat: I die-cut the cat body from Raven cardstock, the fiery eyes using Saffron cardstock, and the cute little pumpkin sitting on its head using Carrot cardstock. I assembled and layered all the die-cut pieces onto the center of the textured background.
Adding the Sentiment: For the sentiment, I heat-embossed the “HAPPY HALLOWEEN” phrase from this month’sClear Stamp & Die Club (Trick or Snark Set)onto black cardstock using white embossing powder, then die-cut and mounted it near the top of the card.
Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope this sassy black cat brings a smile to your face and gives you fun ideas for your Halloween crafting. Happy crafting! 🎃🐈⬛👻
