Sweet Holiday Wishes with Spectacular Penguin

Hello crafting friends! Today, I’m excited to share a super cute card featuring the Spectacular Penguin Etched Dies from the Spectacular Christmas Collection! For this project, I decided to mix and match two wonderful collections by pairing the penguin with the elegant Upright Italic Season’s Greetings Press + Foil Plate by Paul Antonio.

A quick crafting tip for this set: the Spectacular Penguin set actually focuses on the penguin’s adorable head, so it shares the body and accessory dies from the Spectacular Bear Etched Dies! Because these sets coordinate so seamlessly, getting the Spectacular Christmas I Want It All! Bundle is definitely the most practical choice to get the absolute most out of all the cute holiday critters!

For this card, I wanted to incorporate beautiful purple tones. I paired a soft Seaside Cardstock card base with a stunning Lilac Cardstock sentiment panel featuring Matte Silver Hot Foiling. The earmuffs and scarf were die-cut using Mulberry and Orchid Cardstock for a cozy, festive color pop. And of course, I couldn’t resist adding a pair of signature red glasses die-cut from Poppy Cardstock! To complete the scene, our sweet penguin is holding a delicious cupcake from the Spectacular Bear set—customized to my personal favorite flavor combination: rich dark chocolate cake topped with sweet strawberry frosting!

  • Assemble the Penguin: Die-cut the penguin’s head from the Spectacular Penguin Etched Dies using black, white, and orange cardstock. Die-cut the body pieces using the coordinating body die from the Spectacular Bear Etched Dies in black and white. Assemble the penguin and layer it so it sits right behind the purple sentiment panel.

  • Add Accessories & Glasses: Die-cut the earmuffs and scarf using Mulberry and Orchid Cardstock. Die-cut the fun glasses from Poppy Cardstock and place them on the penguin’s face.

Create the Cupcake & Finish: Die-cut the cupcake from the Spectacular Bear Etched Dies using dark brown cardstock for the dark chocolate base, light pink for the strawberry frosting, and add a tiny holly berry topping. Place the cupcake in the penguin’s hands for a sweet finishing touch!

I had so much fun mixing these collections together, and that purple and teal color palette with a pop of red makes me so happy! Adding little personal touches—like my favorite chocolate-strawberry cupcake—always makes cardmaking feel extra special. I hope this sweet little penguin brings a smile to your face today!

Thank you so much for stopping by! Happy Carfting!
