Festive Fun with Spellbinders July Large Die & 3D Embossing Club!

Hi everyone! Today, I’m thrilled to share a bright and cheerful holiday card featuring a combination of the Spellbinders July 2026 Large Die of the Month and the 3D Embossing Folder of the Month. These kits make it so incredibly easy to create playful, dimension-filled Christmas scenes.

For this project, I decided to build a whimsical holiday scene featuring a giant decorated tree and a very jolly Santa peeking out!

The Backdrop: I started by creating the card base using Breeze cardstock. I ran it through my die-cutting machine with this month’s 3D Embossing Folder, “Festive Greetings“, to create a gorgeous, deep text-based background pattern that adds amazing texture without overwhelming the scene.

  • The Scene Elements: Using the “Merry Shuffle” Large Die Set, I focused purely on the Christmas tree and Santa Claus for this specific layout. I die-cut the beautiful layered tree using Fern and Rainforest cardstock to give it a rich, natural look. I also cut out all the tiny, colorful bulb decorations to trim the branches.

  • Assembly & Dimension: To create a fun sense of depth, I adhered Santa directly to the embossed background first. Then, I attached the colorful decorations to the tree and mounted the entire tree right over Santa using foam stickers, making it pop forward.

The Sentiment: For the finishing touch, I used this month’s “Cue the Merry” Clear Stamp Set and Coordinating Die Set. I stamped the “MAKE IT MEMORABLE” sentiment onto Poppy cardstock using VersaMark ink, heat-embossed it with crisp white embossing powder, and die-cut it out before popping it up with foam stickers.

I love how the bold red sentiment ties in with Santa’s suit, and the textured light blue background makes the green tree pop beautifully. This “Merry Shuffle” set has so many fun holiday combinations to play with, and it pairs perfectly with the textured backgrounds from the 3D embossing club.
