Hello, crafty friends! I am so excited to share a vibrant, sunny card featuring the brand-new Lavender Fields Collection from Spellbinders. This project combines the textures of BetterPress with the interactive fun of a shaker card, all wrapped up in a bright, bee-themed design.
To create the background, I used the Sketchy Hexi BetterPress Plate (a favorite from the September 2025 club) on Porcelain BetterPress A2 Cotton Card Panels. I pressed the design using Saffron BetterPress Ink to get those crisp, detailed patterns.
For the coloring, I got a bit creative! I die-cut a hexagon from a scrap piece of paper to create a custom stencil. Using this, I blended yellow and orange inks over the individual hexagons to give the background a warm, multi-toned look.
To build the focal point, I used the Simple Vintage Lavender Fields Hexagons Etched Dies. I die-cut the center hexagon and built a shaker window using Clear Acetate Sheets. After creating a “well” with foam tape, I filled it with Chameleon Opalescent Color Essentials Sequins before sealing it shut.
The frame was die-cut from Tuscan cardstock to add a lovely pop of color. The lavender sprigs and bees were the perfect finishing touches. For the bee wings, I used Holographic cardstock to give them a realistic, iridescent look. Finally, I added a sentiment from the Cheers to You Sentiments BetterPress Plate, foiled in Matte Gold on black cardstock.
I hope this bright yellow card brings a smile to your face today. It was such a joy to mix the new collection with some of my favorite BetterPress techniques. Happy Crafting!

Such a beautiful card. Thank you for reminding me about this pressplate. I tend to file things away and forget about them.
