Today, I want to share another version of a card from this collection that features a stunning textured backdrop. For this project, I leaned heavily into the Confection Companions 3D Embossing Folder, which adds so much depth and character to a simple card base.
Creating the Textured Backdrop:
I started with Seaside cardstock and ran it through my machine with the Confection Companions 3D Embossing Folder. To make the details pop even more, I used a blending brush to lightly shade over the raised areas with a pale Pool colored ink.
The Focal Frame:
I die-cut a crisp white cardstock using the Nested Tree Frame die. This elegant frame provides the perfect stage for our baking scene.
Mixing Up the Bowl: The mixing bowl was created using a combination of Blush and Bellini cardstock. To fill the bowl, I used Truffle and Fawn cardstock to create a realistic-looking chocolate cookie mix.
Handy Kitchen Tools: * I die-cut the wooden spoon from Fawn cardstock using the Fluff, Frost & Roll Etched Dies. The colorful measuring spoons were die-cut using the Measure Mates Etched Dies in a vibrant green gradient of Peridot, Rainforest, and Fern cardstock.
Using an embossing folder combined with a little ink blending is one of my favorite ways to add instant “wow” factor. I love how the soft blues and greens in this card make the chocolatey bowl really stand out! I hope this inspires you to mix and match your cardstock colors for your next baking-themed project.
