Baked with Love: The “Made With Love” Apron Card

If card making is my first love, baking is definitely my second. That’s why the Make it & Bake it Collection by Tina Smith feels so incredibly special to me. It brings together two of my favorite worlds in the most charming way!

For my third project from this collection, I wanted to highlight the Made With Love Etched Dies. There is something so nostalgic and sweet about a polka-dot apron, and this set captures it perfectly.

Creating the Textured Background:

I started by embossing a white cardstock panel using the Confection Companions 3D Embossing Folder. It creates a stunning raised pattern of kitchen tools and treats that sets the stage for the theme.

The Signature Apron:

The apron is the star of this card! I die-cut the scalloped trim and ties from a fresh mint cardstock and used Brush Color wheel cardstock for the pink polka-dot body.

Sweet Pocket Surprise:

To make the apron even cuter, I tucked a couple of tiny cookies—die-cut from the Measure Mates Etched Diesinto the front pocket.

The Sentiment:

I wanted the sentiment to look like a freshly baked treat! I die-cut the “made with love” phrase from the main set using Fawn and Truffle cardstock to mimic the colors of a golden cookie and rich chocolate.

Floral Accents:

I added a pop of color with flowers die-cut from Lavender cardstock using the floral dies included in the Made with Love set.

Creating this card reminded me that whether it’s a handmade card or a batch of cookies, everything is better when it’s “made with love.” I hope this series has inspired you to mix your hobbies and try something new in your craft room!

Happy Crafting!
