Stunning Hummingbird Garden | Spellbinders January 2026 Large Die of the Month
Hello everyone! Today I am sharing a card created with the beautiful January 2026 Large Die of the Month (DOML) from Spellbinders. This month’s collection is filled with garden magic, and I’ve combined it with other club kits to create this whimsical postage-stamp-style scene.
✨ Featured Spellbinders Club Kits:
Large Die of the Month (DOML): Hummingbird’s Delight
Embossing Folder of the Month (EOM): Cloud Nine
Clear Stamp & Die of the Month (CDOM): Best Year Sentiments
🎨 Step-by-Step Process
1. The Base and Frame I wanted to create a “window into nature,” so I started by die-cutting a postage stamp frame with a square window in the center. I used the same postage-edge design for the entire card base to give it a cohesive, playful look.
2. The Textured Sky For the background, I used the EOM (Cloud Nine) on white cardstock. To bring those swirls to life, I lightly blended sky-blue ink over the raised areas with a blending brush. Once the ink was dry, I mounted the postage window frame over this panel using foam Strips for added dimension.
3. The Hummingbird & Flowers (Large Die of the Month)
The Hummingbird: The star of the show from the DOML (Hummingbird’s Delight) was die-cut using Waterfall, Oceanside, Blush, and Dahlia cardstock. I used foam stickers to give the bird a fluttering, 3D effect.
The Daisies: I die-cut these from white cardstock and used a light gray marker to add subtle shading to the petals for a more realistic look.
The Trumpet Flower: This was created using a gradient of Lilac, Lavender, and Fairy Tale cardstock.
The Details: All stems and leaves were cut from Rainforest cardstock. For the flower centers, I used Beeswax cardstock and added depth with a dark yellow marker.
4. Sentiment & Finishing Touches The sentiment is from the CDOM (Best Year Sentiments). I stamped “hope THIS CARD BRIGHTENS YOUR DAY” in black ink and used the coordinating die to cut it out. As a final touch, I scattered white enamel dots across the sky to add a bit of sparkle and texture.
I love how the DOML hummingbird looks against the EOM cloud background—it really brings the “Hummingbird’s Delight” theme to life! This month’s kits are perfect for sending a little sunshine and hope to your loved ones.
Which of this month’s kits is on your wish list? I’d love to see what you create!
Happy Crafting,
