A Garden of Smiles | Spellbinders January 2026 Small Die of the Month

Hello everyone! I’m back with a second project for January, this time featuring the Small Die of the Month (DOM). This “Sunny Stems” set is so versatile and pairs perfectly with this month’s other club kits.

🎨 How to Make This Card

1. The Base and Fan Panels I chose Blue Spruce cardstock for my card base to create a rich, dark backdrop. The focal point is a beautiful fan shape. I die-cut the main base from white cardstock and then cut the decorative fan blades from Blush cardstock.

2. Adding 3D Texture To make the fan extra special, I embossed the Blush panels using the 3EOM (3D Embossing Folder of the Month). I then layered these onto the white base with foam stickers for a gorgeous, dimensional look.

3. Die-Cutting the “Sunny Stems”

  • The Flowers: I used Wild Berry and Dahlia for the trumpet flowers. For the sunflowers and smaller blooms, I used Tuscan, Acorn, and Waterfall cardstock.

  • Stems & Leaves: I cut these from Blue Spruce to match my background.

  • Finishing Touches: I used a white gel pen to add tiny highlights to the petals, which really makes the flowers pop!

4. The Sentiment & Sparkling Details I used the CDOM (Best Year Sentiments) for the “Smile” sentiment, stamped in black and die-cut with the coordinating die. For the final touch, I added Crystal Mix Color Essentials Gems around the flowers to give the card a beautiful, sparkling finish.

I love how the “Sunny Stems” look when arranged on this decorative fan. It’s a wonderful way to send a “smile” to someone special.

Thank you for visiting today, and I hope this inspires your January crafting!

Happy Crafting,

Heejung
