Spellbinders-A Sweet Pop-Up Adventure with Kanga & Roo

Hello, crafting friends! Today, I’m sharing a special interactive card from the new Spellbinders Say Cheese Classic Pooh Baby Collection. This pop-up card features the heartwarming Kanga and Roo, and it’s packed with clever details that make it a perfect keepsake for a new baby.

How to Make This Card

1. Preparing the Card Base

  • First, cut a piece of Leafy Forest Cardstock to 10 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches.

  • Score the base at 3 inch and 6 inches to create the unique trifold foundation.

2. Engineering the Internal Pop-Up Layer

  • Cut a piece of white cardstock to 6 7/8″ inches X  5 1/4 inches and score it at 2 7/8 inches.

  • To create the block platforms, use the 2 7/8 inches fold as a center and mark 1 1/8 inches on both sides.

  • Leave a 1/4- inch gap at the top and bottom. Mark each block at 1″ long with 1/8″ gaps between them.

  • Carefully cut along these marks with a craft knife to create the 3D pop-up slits.

3. Crafting the 3D Alphabet Blocks

  • Use the Classic Pooh Baby Blocks 3D Embossing Folder with blush cardstock.

  • Fussy-cut each block and use a white gel pen to color the alphabet letters so they stand out clearly.

  • Adhere these blocks onto the 3D platforms you created in the previous step.

4. Adding Characters & Sentiments

  • Inside Scene: Stamp Roo and the hearts from the Bundle of Joy Stamp & Die Bundle. Color with markers and die-cut.

  • Functional Detail: Attach the top heart with a foam sticker—it acts as a stopper to keep the card perfectly positioned when opened.

  • Greeting: Stamp “welcome little one” from the Hello Baby Stamp & Die Bundle next to the blocks.

I love how the Say Cheese Classic Pooh Baby Collection allows for both beautiful scenes and fun, interactive elements. Seeing these blocks pop up is sure to bring a smile to anyone’s face!
