Shared with Love: Interactive Locket Card
Hello friends! I am so excited to share that today is the official release day for the Simon Says Stamp January collection! To celebrate, I’ve created a special interactive card using the beautiful Locket of Love stamp set. This set is perfect for sending a hidden message to someone special, and I had so much fun bringing this golden locket to life.
How to Make This Card
1. Creating the Deep Blue Background I started with Oceanside cardstock and used a blending brush with Uncharted Mariner Distress ink to darken the edges. This creates a beautiful glow in the center. I then stamped the diamond star patterns using VersaMark ink and heat embossed them with Gold embossing powder.
2. The Sentiment For the “with love” sentiment on the bottom right, I used VersaMark ink again and heat embossed it with White embossing powder to make it pop against the dark blue background.
3. Coloring the Locket I stamped the heart-shaped locket in black ink and colored it with alcohol markers to give it a realistic golden metallic look. I used a white gel pen to add bright highlights, making the “metal” shine.
4. The Interactive Element This is the best part! I stamped a hidden message (“You are loved”) on a second heart and fussy cut both pieces. I stacked the locket cover over the message heart, pierced a small hole through both, and secured them with a white brad. This allows the top cover to slide open and reveal the secret message inside!
5. Finishing Touches I adhered the locket assembly to the card base and added scattered gemstones for a little extra sparkle and elegance.
