Happy Pills: Spreading Joy with the “This is Life” Collection

Hello, crafty friends! Today, I am so excited to share a fun and quirky card featuring the brand new “This is Life” Collection from Spellbinders. Specifically, I used the Favorite Side Effect Clear Stamp & Die Set to create these adorable little pill characters. We all know that laughter and creativity are the best medicine, and I think these little guys perfectly capture that sentiment!

Step-by-Step Process

Creating the Characters: I used the main die from the Favorite Side Effect set to cut out several pill shapes. To give them distinct personalities, I mixed and matched various Spellbinders cardstock colors: Breeze, Rainforest, Cosmic Sky, Cascade, Waterfall, Indigo, and Teal Topas.

2. Adding Dimension: To make the pills look rounded and realistic, I used a blending brush to add soft shading around the edges of each die-cut piece.

3. Accessorizing: This is where the magic happened! I dipped into my stash and used the Smart Glasses Die Set to give them glasses and sunglasses. The tiny heart detail was cut using the Parcel & Post Heart Decoration Die. For the pill wearing a mask, I simply hand-cut a small piece of white paper to fit.

4. Sentiment & Final Touches: I chose a perfect sentiment from the same Favorite Side Effect Clear Stamp Set and stamped it right in the center of the Alabaster cardstock background. To finish it off, I added a tiny red heart, die-cut from the Parcel & Post Heart Decoration Die, right next to the sentiment for an extra pop of love

I had so much fun giving each “pill” its own little personality. It’s amazing how a few accessories can transform a simple shape into something so full of character! I hope this card brings a smile to your face today.
