A Perfect Match: Classic Mouse Love Card
Hello everyone! I’m back with another project featuring the Classic Mouse Love Collection from Spellbinders. For today’s card, I wanted to capture the timeless charm of these iconic characters while mixing and matching different sets to create a romantic story. It truly shows that some things—like love and great design—never go out of style!
Creating the Scenic Background
The Sky and Hill: I started with a base of Seaside cardstock for a soft, clear sky. For the grassy hill, I used Rainforest cardstock cut with a color block die.
Adding Depth: To give the hill some dimension, I blended Matcha ink over the green cardstock using a large blending brush. This simple step makes the scene feel much more alive.
The Iconic Duo: The base for our characters comes from the Steamboat Willie Duo Etched Dies (from the Say Cheese Classic Mouse collection).
Romantic Accessories: To dress them up for their date, I used the Classic Mouse Love Etched Dies. This is where I found the adorable hat, the bunch of heart balloons, the letter, the rose, and those precious hands forming a heart shape!
The Sentiment: I finished the card with a sentiment from the Classic Mouse Love Sentiments Press + Foil Plate & Die Set. I foiled it in silver on black cardstock to make it pop against the green hill.
It was so much fun mixing and matching these die sets to create a custom scene while celebrating this classic aesthetic. I hope this inspires you to look at your die collections and see how they can work together!
