Spellbinders 12 Days of Stitchmas 2025 Day 7
DAY 7 – Fa La La Tag
12 Days of Stitchmas 2025 Advent Calendar
Day 7 opens with a burst of traditional holiday color—
deep greens, bright reds, winter patterns gathered from scraps saved over time.
Layer by layer, today’s tag carries the rhythm of familiar carols,
stitched in small golden lines: fa la la, light as a song.
I began by selecting a few leftover patterned scraps from my stash—
holiday plaids, small trees, and red-and-green stripes.
I trimmed the pieces to 3 inches by 5.5 inches,
then adhered the strips horizontally, keeping each line straight and clean.
These leftover pieces from Day 2 still carried enough color to shape today’s tag.
Once the striped panel was complete,
I added an oval frame die cut using the same set used earlier in the series
(Scallop and Stitched Edge Ovals Etched Dies).
The oval sits centered on the striped background, grounding the focal design.
For the sentiment letters, I die cut the FA LA LA pieces from white cardstock
and stitched each one with gold metallic thread,
adding a quiet shimmer that feels festive without being loud.
The letters were arranged across the oval frame in a tall vertical stack.
To finish, I added a leftover sentiment—
a previously used piece saved from another project,
fitting neatly beneath the stitched letters.
Traditional colors, simple stitching, and quiet scraps from earlier days
carry the song of Day 7.
Day 7 feels like a holiday chorus—
scraps aligned in rhythm, letters stitched in gold,
each piece echoing the warmth of familiar songs.
Tomorrow brings Day 8, ready to join the melody.
Happy crafting, Heejung.
