Today, Iโm excited to share two floral card designs featuring the brand-new
Tabbed Classics Collection by Wendy Vecchi from Spellbinders.
This release includes beautifully detailed 3D Embossing Folders with
coordinating dies and stencils that allow you to cut and emboss in one pass โperfect for layered floral designs! ๐ธ

These add-ons bring endless possibilities for
decorating envelopes and creating interactive pocket elements on cards ๐โจ
Letโs take a closer look at both card ideas today!
Day 1 โ Birthday Card for Friend (Gate Fold Bouquet Card)
Step 1 โ Create the Gate-Fold Base
Cut an A2 size panel from Tutu Color Essentials Cardstock and emboss it using the Polka Dot & Posy Duo 3D Embossing Folder (Tabbed Classics Collection).
Set aside for layering later.
Step 2 โ Emboss & Die-Cut the Floral Bouquets
Place the coordinating die inside the Thank You Bouquet 3D Folder
with white cardstock and run it through to emboss and die-cut at the same time.
Create two bouquet pieces for both gate panels.
Step 3 โ Stenciling & Coloring
Use the coordinating stencil to apply:
Fresh green ink for leaves
Enhance details using Raw Ember ink and white gel pen dots for highlights.
Step 4 โ Form the Gate-Fold Structure
Using a scoring board, score the outer sides of each bouquet panel ยพโ from the edge, then fold along the score lines.
Adhere both panels to each side of the card base to create the gate-fold opening.
Next, layer the embossed Tutu A2 panel over the top to hide the seams and give the front a clean, finished look
Step 5- Gate Lock Feature
Die-cut and emboss a butterfly using the
Blooming Butterflies 3D Emboss & Cut Folder
from Vivid Expressions Collection on white cardstock.
Color with alcohol markers and adhere in the center
to function as a cute gate-lock, keeping the card closed.
Step 6 โ Inside Sentiment
Die-cut the scalloped rectangle from
Treat Yourself Gift Card Holder Etched Dies
(Bougie Birthday Collection).
Stamp the sentiment from the
Tabbed In & Out Sentiments Clear Stamp & Die Set
(Tabbed Classics Collection)
with VersaFine Onyx Black ink and heat emboss with clear powder.
Die-cut and attach with foam adhesive.
Card 2 โ โWishing You the Most Wonderful Dayโ Pocket Card
Step 1 โ Background
Emboss white A2 panel with the Polka Dot & Posy Duo 3D Embossing Folder โ Tabbed Classics Collection.
Lightly blend Altenew Pool Ink over the raised dots
and adhere to the card base for a soft textured background.
Step 2 โ Create the Pocket Layer
Die-cut the pocket from Seaside Color Essentials Cardstock using the Essential Envelope Die Set from the Not Your Ordinary Card Collection.
For the pocket cover:
Die-cut white cardstock with the coordinating flap die from
Essential Envelope Every Day Add-Ons Etched Dies โ Tabbed Classics Collection,
and emboss with the Posy design from the Polka Dot & Posy Duo folder.
Die-cut a scalloped border from Seaside cardstock and adhere on top for a finished look.
Step 3 โ Tag Insert & Sentiment
Die-cut the pocket insert from Fairy Tale ColorWheel Cardstock.
Stamp the sentiment from the Tabbed In & Out Sentiments Clear Stamp & Die Set- Tabbed Classics Collection using VersaMark Embossing Ink, apply white embossing powder, heat set, then die-cut and attach to the top portion of the insert.
The insert fits perfectly inside the pocket โnot only for a sentiment tag, but also as a gift card holder, making this design even more useful and fun!ย
Step 4 โ Floral Details
Die-cut the florals using the
Essential Envelope Every Day Add-Ons Etched Dies:
Centers: Beeswax Cardstock
Leaves: Rainforest Cardstock
Add depth by ink shading with markers,
then accent the finished florals with white gel pen splatters
for a delicate highlight effect.
Step 5 โ Assembly
Arrange and adhere florals to the pocket front.
Slide the sentiment insert into the pocket โa beautiful interactive detail to complete the card โจ
