Spellbinders- Sep. 25 CDOM, 3EOM and BPOM.
Hello, crafters! Autumn is my favorite season, and I’ve been having so much fun creating with the new September club kits from Spellbinders. Today, I’m excited to share a trio of cards that showcase some of my favorite products and techniques from this month’s releases. Get ready to be inspired by the beautiful autumn designs and fun textures!
The "Autumn Whim" Card
This card features the September Clear Stamp & Die of the Month set, “Autumn Whim.” The embossed background was created using the PatchWork 3D Embossing Folder.
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Emboss the background: Emboss a piece of Acorn cardstock using the PatchWork 3D Embossing Folder.
Stamp and color the main panel: Stamp the images from the Autumn Whim stamp set onto white cardstock twice using black ink. Color the stamped images with markers.
Die cut the panel: Die cut the colored panel using a die from the Perfect Touch Rectangles & Tag set.
Create the mat: Cut a mat from gold metallic cardstock, slightly larger than the die-cut panel. Adhere the colored panel to the gold mat using foam adhesive.
Create the sentiment: Stamp the sentiment onto black cardstock using VersaMark ink. Cover with gold embossing powder and heat with a heat tool to emboss. Die cut the sentiment using the coordinating die.
Assemble the card: Attach the embossed background to a card base. Place the matted panel in the center of the card. Attach the sentiment strip to the center of the matted panel using foam adhesive.
- Add the finishing touches: Finish the card by adding gold embellishments.
The "Sketchy Hexi" Card
This stunning black and gold card uses the September BetterPress & Hot Foil Plate of the Month 2025, “Sketchy Hexi.”
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Create the background panel: Hot foil the “Sketchy Hexi” plate onto a piece of Spellbinders Black (Raven) Cardstock using Matte Gold Hot Foil.
Create the card base: Die cut a panel from Gold Metallic Cardstock using the Postage Edge Rectangle dies. Adhere your foiled black panel to this gold mat.
Create the layered hexagons: Use the leftover foil with the Solid Hot Foil Plate to hot foil more Raven cardstock. Die cut several of these foiled hexagons using the coordinating hexagon dies from the BetterPress & Hot Foil Plate of the Month set. Attach them to the background panel with foam adhesive for added dimension.
Create the stamped and colored images: Stamp the images from the clear stamp set onto Raven cardstock with VersaMark ink, then cover with gold embossing powder and heat set. Die cut the images with the coordinating dies. Use color pencils to add color to some of the images.
Assemble the main panel: Attach the die-cut images to the hexagonal background. For contrast, die cut two solid hexagons from Raven cardstock and place them on the background before adding the images, which helps them stand out.
Hot foil the sentiment: Hot foil the sentiment plate from the BetterPress & Hot Foil Plate of the Month set onto white cardstock using Matte Gold Hot Foil. Die cut the sentiment strip and attach it to the center of the card with foam adhesive.
Add the final touches: Finish the card by adding gold embellishments.
The "Harvest Magic" Card
This card was created using the PatchWork 3D Embossing Folder, the Fresh Picked Labels & Tags die set, and the Small Die of the Month set, “Harvest Magic.”
Step-by-Step Instructions:
Emboss the background: Emboss a piece of Violet cardstock using the PatchWork 3D Embossing Folder. Add shading to the edges with ink to create a darker border.
Create the central panel: Die cut a piece of Alabaster cardstock using the Fresh Picked Labels & Tags die set. Align this die-cut piece in the center of the embossed Violet cardstock and emboss it as well, so the pattern connects seamlessly. Adhere the Alabaster panel to the center of the card.
Assemble the focal images: Die cut the pumpkin, cat, and leaves from the “Harvest Magic” die set. Color and shade them to add dimension, and then adhere them to the card with foam adhesive.
Create the sentiment: Stamp the sentiment from the Clear Stamp & Die of the Month set onto black cardstock using VersaMark ink. Apply gold embossing powder and heat set with a heat tool. Die cut the sentiment and attach it to the card using foam adhesive.
Finish the card: Add a few gold embellishments to complete the card.
